South End: Right now the east side of the lake is having a better bite. There are still some pike in the Warroad river. As waters warm- look toward places like south tip and elm point starting to heat up on the West side. We’ve been out of Warroad and are seeing tons of fish, but just need a few more degrees of water temp to get them going. The water is high but you can still launch in Warroad and surrounding areas. All of the ice is gone and people have started to travel all over the lake. Please be careful as there is still a lot of debris in the water.Angle and beyond: We’ve heard some good reports and some not so good. As with the South end- finding warmer water is key. If you can find water in the low 40’s you will find fish, and some have yet to spawn. Shallow bays, especially south facing sand bays, would be a good spot to start. Some nice pike have been caught while walleye fishing. Don’t be surprised to have musky encounters as well but remember that season doesn’t open until June 18th so you must keep them in the water and release as quickly as possible. Trout fishing on LOTW and surrounding lakes has been very good and fish are in shallow.Have fun, hang on to your docks, and good luck fishing everyone!!
