On the South shore overall fishing is picking up. Anglers seem to be having the best luck fishing out in the mud basin. (25-35′ of water) There has been a strong morning and evening bite, with aggressive baits such as slab raps and rippin’ raps. Downsizing during the middle of the day to spoons and smaller tungsten jigs, tipped with fatheads or frozen shiners has been working well. Pike anglers are also having luck in the 8-15′ depth range, along the shoreline, using live suckers and frozen smelt.
